Thanks to all for volunteering and showing up.
The annual picnic is Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 4:00 P. M.. We are having it a little
earlier this year, trying to attract more summer residents. There will be a brief meeting
at 3:00 P. M. We will start cooking at 3:45 and will be serving by 4:15. The association
provides burgers or chicken, buns, soft drinks, plates, plasticware and condiments. (If
you want to bring your ice chest with choice of your own beverage, please do) we are
asking each family to bring a hot or cold dish or a dessert to share. Also, you will want
to bring your own comfortable chair. All residents of Ponderosa Park are welcome. Please
spread the word, as this letter will only go to paid members. We will put up posters a
week before the picnic.
There is a plan to have a silent auction at the picnic as a fundraiser. Carol Hinkle,
has volunteered to chair that project. Her e-mail address is chinkle at Ponderosa Park
Association.org. If you have something you would like to donate to be auctioned off,
please contact Carol. Please help, if you can.
There have been summer residents who have wanted to help financially to make up for the
fact that they cannot actively participate in the association. We are looking for an angel
that might want to donate a permanent sign for the association to announce meetings and
gatherings. We would need a custom made sign that could have the dates and times changed
as needed. Please contact me if you are interested in doing something like that.
The hail storm on Friday, July 28 caused major car and roof damage to many. If you were
not here, you might want to have an inspection done of your property. Also, we have been
informed that some insurance companies are no longer writing fire insurance for Ponderosa
Park. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to create a fire safety zone on and
around their property.
Other information there will be no play equipment provided by homeowners at the picnic
area. There will be no post office box number for the association. Please send "snail
mail" to the president of the association.
We are trying to institute an e-mail list for members of the association to defray
costs of mailing the newsletter, as well as to send out other types of notices. Meghan
Wharton has volunteered to collect these e-mail addresses and to forward the future
newsletters via e-mail. Please e-mail Meghan with your address so we can get this started.
Her e is mwharton at Ponderosa Park Association.org. Please also send a copy of your
e-mail address to me, at my new e-mail address,

We now have approximately 60 paid members and about $5,200 in our treasury. We had a
road cleanup on short notice, so only three of us were available. It still only took an
hour. Thanks to Jim and Ron! We have accepted responsibility for keeping Ponderosa Road
clean. If you have some extra time and want to stop along your way and pick up any trash
that you see on the road, that would be great!
Mike Robinson has agreed to chair a committee to look into the dumpster and brush
removal situation and were looking forward to discuss that matter at the meeting
before the picnic. We hope to see you all there!
Mike Brockert, President
