July 2008 Ponderosa Park Association Newsletter

We had a working party on July 13th and put up the fire safety signs leading into the park. The signs are Burma Shave style signs with the following:

And there is a final sign at the Ponderosa Park bulletin board with covered boxes holding fire safety flyers from various state and federal agencies.

The working part was the chairwoman Estherly Allen, Jull McAdoo, Carl Goff, Paul Koppy, Carol Hinkle, and Allen Laudenslager. Thanks to Estherly for getting the necessary permits and donations to get the signs made and the working party for putting up the signs.

Annual Picnic
Saturday, August 30th

The annual picnic will be held on Saturday, August 30th (Labor Day Weekend) at the Picnic Area on Libby Loop.

Last year the silent auction was a big success and we would like to do it again this year. We are planning on starting that if enough people will donate new or craft items for sale. Patricia Brockert is in charge of collecting the silent auction items. Her number is 541-0063 or email MBROCKERT@PonderosaParkAssociation.org

There will be a short association meeting at 4 PM, followed by THE FOOD!

We are asking people to bring a side dish or desert as the association will provide hamburgers, hot dogs with fixings an cold drinks.

We also need a picnic chair person and people willing to help with preparing and serving food and to organize some children's games.

I've had several request to send e-mails to members when news is published to the website and I will be happy to notify anyone who is would like that.  Please send me your email address and I'll make sure you are on the list.
