August 26, 2006 Ponderosa Park Association Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 3:05 P. M. by president Mike Brockert. Vice
president Allen Laudenslager was present. Secretary Anna Watson was present. Treasurer
Geoff Erb was absent. Board members Larry Peterson and Judy Midkiff were present. Board
members Mike Robinson and Susie Brady were absent.
Allen Laudenslager made a motion that the minutes of the previous meeting be accepted
as contained in the previous newsletter. Larry Peterson seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
In the absence of the treasurer an informal report was given by president Mike
Brockert. There is approximately $5,000 in the bank, to date.
Old business:
The new membership form was presented. President Mike Brockert said we now have
approximately 60 members.
President Mike Brockert read a letter from Mike Robinson, who heads the committee on
dumpster acquisition. All of the options were discussed. The dumpster matter was tabled
until spring.
New business:
President Mike Brockert explained that Ray Sola has volunteered to put up a web site for
Ponderosa Park Association. There was a discussion held. The web site will cost only about
$15 per year. Carol Hinkle made a motion that we put up the web site. Connie Ellis
seconded the motion. Motion carried. If you have information for the web site, contact Ray
at RSola AT Ponderosa Park Association.org. Our new url for the website is
PonderosaParkAssociation.org. Our official name is Ponderosa Park Association.
There was discussion about the concern over fast and unlicensed vehicles on the park
roads. The only recourse is to call the sheriffs office. If you can find out ahead
of time where the vehicles originate from it will be helpful to the sheriffs office.
But they will only come out while the vehicles are operating in an unlawful fashion and
only if they have someone free at the time.
There was a discussion regarding playground equipment at the picnic area and president
Mike Brockert explained that it was decided at the previous meeting not to do this because
of liability issues.
There was a discussion about the silent auction for the picnic and the general
consensus was that the money from the silent auction would go to a separate fund to
purchase something for the picnic area or to purchase a permanent sign for notice of
meetings, etc.
President Mike Brockert thanked Judy Midkiff for preparing and putting up all of the
signs for the picnic and for getting all of the food and supplies for the picnic.
He also explained that we are going to start putting the Ponderosa Park Association
newsletter on our new web page instead of mailing it out to everyone. In the coming
newsletter that we will send to all members we will ask that if they want a mailed copy
they will have to request one in writing.
At 3:45 P. M., Allen Laudenslager made a motion that we adjourn the meeting and Glenn
Peterson seconded the motion. The motion carried.
