July 15, 2006 Ponderosa Park Association Meeting
OFFICERS PRESENT:
MIKE BROCKERT, PRESIDENT
BRAD BEAN, VICE-PRESIDENT
ALLEN LAUDENSLAGER, TREASURER
PAT BROCKERT, ACTING TREASURER FOR ANNA WATSON
SUSIE BRADY, BOARD MEMBER
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 9:00 A. M. ATTACHED IS THE SIGN-UP SHEET OF THOSE IN
ATTENDANCE. THERE WERE 27 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE, REPRESENTING 17 VOTES. THERE WAS A QUORUM.
THERE WAS NO APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR LACK OF A QUORUM AT THE PAST THREE MEETINGS.
ALLEN LAUDENSLAGER GAVE THE TREASURERS REPORT. INCOME FROM DUES WAS $1,465.43.
TOTAL EXPENDITURES WERE $1326.50. THE BALANCE IN THE ACCOUNT TO DATE IS $4,926.45.
PRESIDENT MIKE BROCKERT GAVE A MEMBERSHIP REPORT. TO DATE, THERE ARE 51 MEMBERS. BY THE
END OF THE MEETING, THERE WERE AN ADDITIONAL SIX MEMBERS, BRINGING THE MEMBERSHIP TO 57.
MEMBERSHIP IS FROM APRIL TO APRIL.
THERE WAS A LENGTHY DISCUSSION ABOUT THE DUMPSTER SITUATION. MIKE BROCKERT EXPLAINED
THE SITUATION OF THE EMERGENCY DUMPSTER AFTER APS/ASPLUNDH WOULD NOT TAKE THE PINE NEEDLES
THAT WERE DROPPED OFF FOR THE APS/ASPLUNDH FREE CHIPPING OF LIMBS DAY. IT WAS ALSO POINTED
OUT THAT THE DUMPSTERS ARE FAR MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THEY USED TO BE.
WHAT USED TO COST $500 IS NOW COSTING $1,500. ALSO, THERE HAS TO BE SUPERVISION WITH
THE DUMPSTER. MIKE ROBINSON AGREED TO LOOK INTO THE SITUATION AND SEE IF THERE IS A BETTER
WAY TO HANDLE THE REMOVAL OF BRUSH AND LIMBS AND HOW WE CAN SUPERVISE THE SITUATION. THERE
WAS ALSO DISCUSSION OF A FEE FOR USE OF THE DUMPSTER .
THERE WAS A DISCUSSION ABOUT A RAFFLE OR SILENT AUCTION AT THE picnic AS A FUNDRAISER.
CAROL HINKLE VOLUNTEERED TO CHAIR A COMMITTEE TO SET UP A SILENT AUCTION FOR THE ANNUAL
picnic.
THERE WAS A DISCUSSION REGARDING PLAY EQUIPMENT FOR THE PARK AREA. THE ISSUE OF
LIABILITY WAS DISCUSSED. THE MATTER WAS TABLED.
THERE WAS DISCUSSION ABOUT ROAD CLEANUP. MIKE ROBINSON, GEOFF ERB, MEGHAN WHARTON AND
PAT EGAN VOLUNTEERED TO HELP WITH ROAD CLEANUP.
PRESIDENT MIKE BROCKERT GAVE THANKS TO PAT BROCKERT AND ANNA WATSON FOR GETTING THE
PARK-WIDE MAILING OUT AND TO JUDY MIDKIFF FOR HER USUAL GREAT JOB IN GETTING THE SIGNS UP
ABOUT THE MEETING.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS WAS HELD
BY ACCLAMATION, THE FOLLOWING OFFICERS WERE ELECTED
THERE WAS A DISCUSSION OF WHETHER WE NEEDED TO PAY FOR THE POST OFFICE BOX OR IF THE
PRESIDENT COULD JUST RECEIVE THE ASSOCIATION MAIL AT HIS PERSONAL MAILBOX. PRESIDENT MIKE
BROCKERT SAID IT WAS A HASSLE FOR HIM TO GO TO THE POST OFFICE AND MOST OF THE MAIL CAME
TO HIS PERSONAL BOX, NOW. THERE WAS A MOTION AND SECOND THAT THE POST OFFICE BOX BE LET GO
AND THE MAIL WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE PRESIDENT.
THERE WAS A DISCUSSION ABOUT THE DATE OF THE picnic. IT WAS DECIDED TO HAVE THE picnic
IN AUGUST THIS YEAR TO SEE IF WE COULD GET MORE ATTENDANCE FROM THE OUT OF TOWN RESIDENTS.
IT WILL BE HELD AT 4:00 IN THE AFTERNOON INSTEAD OF THE MORNING, BECAUSE THE PARK AREA
WILL BE SHADY AT THAT TIME.
THERE WILL BE AN ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION AT 3:00 P. M., JUST PRECEDING THE
picnic.
THERE WAS A DISCUSSION ABOUT DISASTER REGISTRY AND AN EVACUATION PROGRAM. PEOPLE ARE
ENCOURAGED TO EXCHANGE TELEPHONE NUMBERS AND E-MAIL ADDRESSES WITH THEIR NEIGHBORS.
MEGHAN WHARTON VOLUNTEERED TO COMPILE AN E-MAIL LIST AND SEND OUT NOTICES TO THE
MEMBERS BY E-MAIL. ALL ATTENDING GAVE THEIR E-MAIL ADDRESSES, IF THEY HAD THEM. WE ARE
GOING TO TRY TO SAVE MONEY BY SENDING NOTICES BY E-MAIL WHEN POSSIBLE.
THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 10:15 A. M.
