The subjects discussed were:
Treasurer's Report: Mike Brockert reported that in January of 2007 the
Association had $5,321.80. As of this date, we have $5,094.15. Expenditures included
monies for the dumpster, insurance, the picnic and storage shed.
One of our neighbor's house was broken into in January. A lock was shimmied on the
outside door, and the interior door was kicked in. It could be the work of teenagers/kids,
but be cognizant of any unusual activity in your neighborhood.
Residents have noticed the presence of more javelina, coyotes, racoons, etc. in our
area. Some have even seen a herd of 13 javelina! Be aware, protect your pets and kids, and
don't corner any animal that may get frightened and attack. Also, don't leave pet food or
water out as these may attract the wildlife.
The Forest Service cut a large amount of the brush along Ponderosa Road and planned a
controlled burn "in the Fall of 2007." That never happened, and there is
concern about fuel buildup out in the forest area of Ponderosa Road which will be very
dangerous in the upcoming fire season. Allen Laudenslager said he would contact the
Forest Service to see when/if that controlled burn will occur.
The County plan to pave Kaibab Road during 2007 was not completed. There is a dangerous
ditch that vehicles could get hung up in, and it needs to be filled in. Allen will contact
the County to find out their plans for repair/paving of Kaibab Road.
Christmas decorations are still up out on Ponderosa Road! While we all like the festive
appearance, please them down before the Forest Service decides not to allow decorations in
the future.
Do we want to do monthly Summer barbecues/potlucks? These would be held on one Saturday
each month from May through September, and would be just a social thing -- a
get-to-know-your-neighbors type of event. Would residents be interested in this type of
activity, and if so, would there be people who would be willing to coordinate each
gathering?
Would Ponderosa Park residents be interested in having a float in the any of the
Prescott parades? A member made the suggestion and thought it might be fun as a community
project. If there is any interest, let the Board know.
Allen Laudenslager will compile a newsletter for a Spring mailing to all residents with
reminders to pay your dues along with mention of other pertinent items. The newsletter
will be reviewed by the Board at a March 19th meeting and then sent out at the end of
April (around the 25th). If you have anything you would like addressed in this mailing,
please contact Allen Laudenslager at (928) 713-1613 or by email at president@PonderosaParkAssociation.org.
A general resident's meeting is scheduled for May 10, 2008.
